Outline on Sex-trafficking:
-Opening statistic as a shocker
-catches attention and introduces sex-trafficking
-brings up reenactments to show dramatic examples of the problem
-Describes actions: treatment is worse than dogs, "runaways"
-Uses Melissa Farley, clinical psychologist, for ethos.
-Farley's commentary appeals to emotion.
-Metaphors: small framing is the soul, the fading light is hope --> appeals to emotion of viewers.
-Brutality of treatment shown to once again appeal to pathos
The last paragraph was definitely the most powerful of the essay. While the essay seemed to make mostly emotional appeals, this one hit on logos, solidifying the essay's overall effectiveness. What was consistently strong between this paragraph and the rest was the use of topic sentences. Each was clear and tied to the thesis.
